Back in March 2018, David Bodin-Galvez reached the second stage of the 2018 BTEC Awards. We are now extremely pleased to announce that David has made it to the final stage, being put forward for Adult Learner of the Year. This is an amazing achievement – David is now one of three people in the UK awaiting the decision of whether or not they’ve won.
David, originally from Spain, has come a long way (in more ways than one!). He left school without any qualifications to work in the construction industry in Spain, initially as a labourer. 15 years later David moved to the UK and started a BTEC course, followed by an HNC/HNC in Civil Engineering, completing these with distinctions.
David is currently at Leeds Beckett studying for a degree in Civil Engineering.
David is also the events co-ordinator for the iStructE Yorkshire regional group, meaning that David is more active in the structural engineering community.
We’re right behind David and wish him all the luck in the world in the hope that he deservedly gets the award for Adult Learner of the Year. We’re really proud of you David!
