The site of the former Dunlopillo factory in Pannal is being redeveloped into state of the art residential care home for people living with dementia.
Comprising of eight separate homes within the building, each home provide self-contained en-suite facilities with communal areas, internal courtyards and sensory outdoor roof gardens.
Working with GMI Construction, Avie have designed a steel framed structure that sits within the slope of the site using internal and external reinforced concrete retaining walls. Composite steel deck floors on a regular internal grid provide a robust floor deck for both residential and external use whilst providing clear service routes required for a comfortable residential environment.
A surface water culvert has been diverted around the site as part of the civil engineering design package. Surface and foul water drainage systems and access road levels have been designed to complement the sloping nature of the site whilst tying into the proposed access road for the larger development of the main site.
