Avie were commissioned by Integra Buildings, https://integrabuildings.co.uk/ to undertake the structural design of a new modular classroom block for Wellington College, Berkshire.
The building was a 2 storey building located on the footprint of an existing modular building that was to be removed. The scheme offered technical challenges as the existing foundations were to be retained for the new building that had a different modular arrangement to the existing structure. Avie undertook the superstructure design, supervised the geotechnical investigation undertaken to justify the existing foundations and undertook the design of a support grillage for the new superstructure.
